Hotel Housekeeper


The Housekeeping Staff is responsible for all daily housekeeping services to the hotel, and are the responsible for all room turn over. They are responsible for the overall hotel appearance and condition of the rooms and public areas of the property.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The list below are most of the tasks you will be asked to perform during your employment at The Thompson House Family Resort:

  • Arrive on time each day.
  • Obtain room assignments from the Office.
  • Obtain keys to guest’s rooms and supply closets.
  • Clean and tidy guest rooms including; moping, vacuuming, making beds, and all aspects of cleaning
  • Report rooms to the Office when finished.
  • Clean and tidy common areas including; hallways, stairs, common areas, and restrooms to include: windows, fixtures, floors, walls, ceilings, and furniture.
  • Check supply stock in closets and report to the Office when items need to be replenished.
  • Report any missing or broken items to the Office.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the Office.
  • Must be able to up and down stairs multiple times per day.
Work Schedule and Conditions

Typically our busiest periods are during weekends and holiday periods, which you will be expected to work. You may also be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods. We will do our best to offer consecutive days off, as well as special scheduling request, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to satisfy all requests.

Dress Code
  • Must be neat and clean with an overall approachable appearance.
  • Shirt and pants without rips or tears, rubbed-sole, close-toe shoes must be worn.

Housekeepers start at $10.00 per hour plus possible gratuities, but varies based on experience and performance.
